What we do & provide

“Getting to know you”
At Milford Care Homes we appreciate that each resident is an individual.
So, too, is the type of care needed. Understanding you or your loved one’s physical and emotional well-being is imperative to us in order to determine the best type of care.
We thoroughly assess every Resident to learn about his or her preferences, needs and goals, and we design individualised plans of care and support services to maximise his or her health, comfort and peace of mind.

The plan of care includes details of Residents’ health needs, social interests and activities and how these are met. It sets out any arrangements to attend religious services of their choice and for contact with relatives, friends and representatives.

“It’s your Choice”
At our Home Residents are encouraged to be involved in the decision-making processes of the home. We respect our Residents’ right to voice their opinions, and make personal decisions. Residents make their own decisions about bedtime, getting up time, whether to stay in their own room or join others in the lounge, choice of where to have their dinner or breakfast etc. We have no restrictive visiting hours and all guests will be assured a warm welcome.

“In Good Hands with our Caring Team”
The Care Team in our Home is dedicated to high standards of care for each and every Resident within the Home. The Care Team comprises of trained and dedicated carers who care for each Resident’s unique needs and preferences.
All employees undergo a tailored training program with the basic premise that it is the individual responsibility of each employee to deliver meaningful care to our Residents.
We stress the importance of putting your loved one’s emotional needs first and foremost, whether it means celebrating a birthday or simply fluffing a pillow.

“Committed to Quality – It is not just what we do, but how we do it”
At our Home we are committed to providing a quality service. We have a comprehensive quality manual which incorporates our Home’s policies and procedures in terms of all aspects of the provision of care, with the Milford Care Homes Philosophy of Care at heart. A vital part of our approach to quality assurance is to involve Residents, relatives and their representatives and we endeavour to gain regular feedback from all concerned via formal and informal meetings.

“Delicious Home Cooked Food”
We pride ourselves on our delicious and traditional home cooked dishes, with ingredients being selected on the basis of quality, taste and nutrition. All meals are freshly prepared in-house and our catering staff liaise with the Care Team to ensure special dietary requirements are fully catered for.

Our dining room has a relaxed friendly atmosphere, where you can enjoy tasty and appetising meals amongst good company or you can choose to have your meals served to your room.

“All the comforts of Home without the worries”
At our Care Home, we provide all the comforts of home without the worry of maintenance and chores. Our extensive services include a regular laundry service, cleaning, a hair dressing salon, visiting chiropodist, newspaper delivery and other services that the Resident can request.

“Enjoying Life”
One of the delights of our Home is that you can choose to do as much or as little as you like. The Home organises a wide variety of social activities.
Whether pottering around in the garden, watching a video, enjoying a sing along by a visiting musician, or participating in a lively game of bingo, every Resident can participate in his or her favourite activity if he or she wishes.

The Home has a sense of Community spirit. We organise meetings where Residents, staff and relatives can decide which social events and activities they would like to pursue. Relatives and friends of the Resident are positively encouraged to attend various events and activities that take place. Outings are also arranged using our specially adapted mini bus. Popular outings include a cruise on the river Trent, a visit to the White Post Farm pet centre and the Crich Tramway Museum.

“Bedrooms with a Homely touch”
Great care has been taken to ensure that each room is comfortable and inviting and we positively encourage Residents to bring some familiar and favourite belongings to enhance their bedrooms’ homely atmosphere. All bedrooms are equipped with en-suite washing facilities, nurse call system and are suitable for a television if the Resident so desires.
